WiFi Film Festival: A Weekend Escape with Cinema and Community

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) — This weekend, filmmakers are highlighting their narrative skills directly through the screen as part of this year’s event. WiFi Film Festival .

The public was able to participate in attending the The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library On Saturday morning, when they had the opportunity to view brief movies, Washburn University Students along with indie filmmakers globally.

Participants claim it's an encounter unparalleled by anything else.

"In this current era, the Hollywood landscape tends to be quite exclusive when it comes to film selection, so our aim is to provide an opportunity for independent creators to showcase their talents and have their moment in the spotlight. We're thrilled to feature some exceptional directors," stated Charlize Easter, Content and Event Director of the Wifi Film Festival.

The festival carries on Sunday with the prerecorded award show starting at 2 p.m.
