Westwood ISD Grooms Students for Post-High School Success: Mock Interviews in Action
PALESTINE, Texas ( KETK Westwood High School is securing its students' futures by organizing mock interviews to ready them for their upcoming professional journeys.
The schools' Career and Technical Education program (CTE) revealed on Friday that their first-ever mock interview event will take place on Thursday, April 17 at Palestine Toyota. This initiative aims to boost students' self-assurance and equip them with skills that will prove valuable after they finish high school.
In the simulated interviews, students should wear professional clothing and have multiple printed copies of their resumes ready to mimic an actual job interview scenario. Afterward, they'll receive critiques regarding their non-verbal cues, speaking mannerisms, and how effectively their resumes were presented.
Leigh Ann Crump, who leads the CTE program, discussed the significance of these simulated interview sessions and how beneficial they will be for students as they transition into their professional lives.
This occasion is crucial for getting our students ready both academically and for their future careers and lives post-high school," Crump stated. "We aim for each Westwood graduate to be confident and fully prepared for their careers.
