Upcoming Events Aim to Connect Clevelanders with Construction and Infrastructure Training Opportunities
Cleveland, Ohio – Residents of Cleveland have the opportunity to participate in complimentary upcoming events designed to link them with training programs for construction jobs and related fields.
The Built Environment Collaborative will be hosting three fairs over the next three months to help residents receive training for “stable, well-paying careers in construction, infrastructure and clean energy,” a news release said.
The initiative is headed by Greater Cleveland Works the workforce development agency serving the city of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County.
The attending organizations at the event will feature Cleveland Builds, Cuyahoga Community College, Cleveland Neighborhood Progress, LegalWorks, Towards Employment, the Urban League of Greater Cleveland, and Hard Hatted Women Ohio.
No registration is required.
Small enterprises will have the opportunity to link up with firms that can assist them in obtaining new certifications and enhancing their skills.
A representative stated, 'The event is accessible to everyone and will particularly appeal to individuals seeking to advance or broaden their professional path.'
The initial fair will be held on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St. Ignatius of Antioch, located at 10205 Lorain Ave.
The second event will be held on May 22 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jefferson-Puritas West Park CDC, located at 14703 Puritas Avenue.
The third event is set for June 17 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Glenville branch of Cleveland Public Library located at 11900 St. Clair Avenue.
Several council members from both Cleveland and Cuyahoga County are set to participate in these events with the aim of "interacting with job seekers, listening to their experiences, and promoting workforce development," according to the statement.
The narrative has been revised to indicate that these events provide training opportunities. They should not be considered conventional job fairs for individuals looking for employment.
