The Twisted Tale of the Culkin Brothers and Their Narcissistic Father

Macaulay, the third among seven siblings, grew up in a tiny one-bedroom flat in Manhattan along with his mother, Patricia, who was employed as a telephone operator, and his father, Kit, who served as a sacristan at the Catholic Church, essentially taking care of the premises.
The apartment had just two entrances, and the kids shared cramped bunk beds for sleeping arrangements.
Macaulay’s younger sibling Kieran recalls that the apartment was scarcely large enough to accommodate two people.

Shane Culkin, who came into this world in 1976, was the oldest offspring of Kit and Patricia.
Since he was young, Kit tried to steer Shane towards acting, urging him to try out for multiple parts.
However, when Macaulay went along with his brother for an audition, the producers were smitten with him and gave him the part instead of his brother.
As Shane proceeded to star in a live performance of Our Town On Broadway, the 47-year-old has since stayed away from the limelight.
Dakota Culkin.
Dakota Culkin, who was Macaulay Culkin's elder sibling, led a relatively private existence away from the public eye. Sadly, she met her untimely demise in a vehicular crash in 2008 when she was just 29 years old.

Since we welcomed our two sons into the world, you’ve taken your place among my top three cherished individuals.”
