Post Malone Scores Big Win in Custody Battle for Daughter

Post Malone has already achieved a significant victory in his battle for custody of his 2-year-old daughter.

Court papers acquired by Page Six reveal that "Sunflower" artist (whose real name is Austin Richard Post) submitted his own custody documentation in Utah on Monday. This filing came just ahead of his former fiancée, Hee Sung “Jamie” Park, who lodged her petition in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Because he initiated the process first, that’s where the legal proceedings will take place, says TMZ. This move could also significantly reduce costs for the musician since California typically mandates larger child support payouts.

The 29-year-old artist opted to file in Utah as it was the state where he and Park initially divided child custody equally between themselves, according to information provided to TMZ by sources.

It is also claimed that Park relocated to California early in 2025 following her separation from Post towards the end of 2024.

The insiders also alleged that her move was in an effort to establish residency in California, setting the ground for her to file for custody in Los Angeles for financial reasons.

Reps for Post Malone did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The identity of Malone’s ex was revealed on Friday after reports surfaced that she petitioned the Los Angeles Superior Court this week for full custody of their daughter.

Their daughter’s name has yet to be revealed as she was only noted in Park’s court docs as “DDP.” Her birthdate is listed as May 26, 2022.

Malone announced he had welcomed a baby girl and got engaged in June 2022.

The "Rockstar" artist has since progressed with Parsons School of Design student Christy Lee. They have been spotted together several times. heading out for public outings since March.

The newly formed couple had most recently noticed during a shopping excursion earlier this month in Paris.
