Pi Network Scraps Migration Roadmap, Timeline Uncertain

Pi Network has released its much-awaited Mainnet Migration Roadmap. The first phase will involve transitioning millions of users, known as Pioneers, to the open network. Additionally, the strategy includes introducing fresh rewards such as referral bonuses for confirmed participants.

Nevertheless, the network did not offer any expected timelines or timelines This has irritated and shocked numerous early backers.

According to the roadmap, migration will take place in three key phases. First, Pi’s initial migrations will be done. This includes confirmed mining rewards, security circle rewards, lockup bonuses, app usage bonuses, and confirmed Node rewards for some.

Secondly, it will implement referral mining rewards. But only if the referrals have undergone KYC (Know Your Customer) checks. The second phase will be initiated once the migration queue of the current version of Kin drives is completed.

At last, Pi Will start regular migrations on an ongoing timeline. The group suggests this might occur monthly or quarterly. However, they did not provide a precise schedule once more.

The community identifies gaps and voices their worries.

Many pioneers are worried due to several missing pieces of information. Based on reports, certain node operators have been rewarded. However, it’s uncertain who these payments are intended for and what their purpose is. This ambiguity causes concern among early node operators, as they fear potential unfairness without clear guidelines could lead them to be disadvantaged.

In the meantime, certain users have consistently clicked their "claim" button every day, only to find themselves puzzled as they haven’t seen any of their coins appear. These individuals are now questioning when exactly they can expect their base rewards and referral bonuses to be credited.

The design of the user interface is also an issue. The plan acknowledges that the "Transferable Balance" might fall short of the true value. This revelation has caused numerous Pioneers to worry that their genuine Pi coins may either be concealed or delayed.

If customers discover errors in their mining records, the network provides them with no apparent way to rectify these issues, which only heightens concerns. Disputes arising from six years of mining activities are inevitable, yet the plan fails to outline potential solutions for addressing such conflicts.

Users push for answers amid ongoing uncertainty

Although the strategy is well-organized, the absence of clear deadlines has caused concern among some pioneers. This ambiguity is compounded by the unclear number of users awaiting migration and the network’s limited daily migration capacity.

Furthermore, the document acknowledges that the UI's "Transferable Balance" feature undervalues transferred sums in order to conserve resources. This conservative representation has raised concerns among users who worry that concealing accurate figures might undermine confidence in the system.

An irritated community member raised doubts about whether Pi Network truly utilized an actual blockchain. They mentioned believing they were mining PI coins and thought that Security Circles served as the consensus mechanism. However, they now felt unsure and pondered how such a blockchain system could necessitate all tokens being created at genesis.

The timing also fails to consider how many token unlock events will be aligned with migration waves — e.g., the approximately 108.9 million PI tokens unlocked this month.

Several pioneers have expressed concerns regarding the core storyline of the project, indicating that Pi's assertion stating "all tokens were created at inception" contradicts six years of "mining." This discrepancy raises doubts about whether Pi truly operated using an authentic blockchain protocol.
