Molly Ringwald's Emotional Moment: Judd Nelson Reveals the Legality of "The Breakfast Club" 40 Years Later

When the cast of The Breakfast Club Reunited after 40 years, this event drew both audience members and Molly Ringwald on the verge of tears at the Chicago’s C2E2 Convention on Saturday, April 11.

I am deeply touched and overwhelmed with emotion seeing everyone gathered here," Ringwald shared with the audience. "It’s the inaugural moment for Emilio joining our group. There’s no longer a need for the cardboard stand-in since he is present among us. Therefore, yes, I’m genuinely heartened by this reunion.

While some among the amazing five — Judd Nelson , Molly Ringwald , Emilio Estevez , Ally Sheedy and Anthony Michael Hall — They have made appearances at different events over the years, but the entire main cast has not come together until now.

Estevez stands out as the rarity within the group, explaining why, after 40 years, it finally feels appropriate for him to become part of the passionate connection associated with the movie.

I missed all of my high school reunions, so this was something I ultimately decided to do for myself," he explains. "This event felt particularly special. It’s taking place in Chicago, where we shot the film, clearly at the 40th anniversary. th On our anniversary, it seemed right somehow. I overheard someone saying that Molly mentioned, “Doesn’t Emilio just not enjoy spending time with us?” It really hurt me. I responded, “Of course, I care for all of them,” which only confirmed what needed to be done. And so, here we stand now."

The entire cast freely exchanged their affectionate terms with each other for an hour, answering queries posed by both the moderator and fans. Anthony Michael Hall still brought much of the lightness and comedy to the panel.

At some point, the actors began discussing getting together socially following filming sessions and shared what activities they might pursue during their free time in Chicago. The Breakfast Club was filmed.

Judd Nelson clarified, "We got one evening free. It was on Saturday." He continued, "Since Emilio, Ally, and I are of legal drinking age, we could go out. However, Molly and Michael couldn’t join us because they aren’t old enough. Additionally, Molly and Michael need to spend time with a tutor at school each day as part of filming the movie. Therefore, only three of us were able to head out that night."

Nelson proceeds: "Ally primarily remains in her room. I am clueless about what happens inside. Therefore, on Saturdays, Emilio and I would head into Chicago."

Hall interjects: "That’s why Emilio never showed up over all these years. He didn’t want these tales revealed."

That doesn’t stop Nelson from completing his tale: "In 1983 or 1984, we head to Chicago, but neither Division nor Rush Street has a club willing to admit a fellow with sneakers alongside someone sporting motorcycle boots. There was only one venue, the now-defunct Jazz Bowls. For anyone who visited or knows individuals connected to this spot, it ranks as the best place ever. They allowed us entry without issue. Thus, we relished our time in Chicago every Wednesday night."
