Mina Kimes Roasted After Shocking Celebrity Jeopardy! Loss

ESPN NFL commentator Mina Kimes has built her career around analyzing and criticizing choices made by NFL organizations. However, on Friday, the spotlight turned towards Kimes when she fell short during her most recent appearance on. Celebrity Jeopardy! earlier this week.
Following their progress beyond the quarterfinal stage last month, Kimes went head-to-head with David Friedberg and Sean Gunn during the semifinal round on Wednesday. Although they maintained an advantage for much of the episode, Kimes eventually fell short at the finish line. Both she and Sean Gunn answered the Final Jeopardy question incorrectly. and Friedberg was correct.
Kimes came in second place, narrowly following David Friedberg. Nevertheless, the ESPN NFL commentator was quite critical of herself during an appearance on the program. Pablo Torre Finds Out The podcast compares her hesitation with "Daily Doubles" to how an NFL head coach might be reluctant to attempt a fourth down conversion. conversions.
“I could feel his disappointment in my cowardly bullsh*t daily double strategy,” said Kimes of Celebrity Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings. “You can see it, just the disgust… I am the coach who kicks the field goal instead of going for it!! My whole career is devoted to calling these coaches out on cowardly game management, and then when I was in that situation, I panicked like a word I can’t say.”
If you don’t think Kimes was hard enough on herself, Pablo Torre and Dan Le Batard certainly were, roasting her for what they believe what would be considered a “choke” in the sports world.
Mina, for those who aren't tuning in, is adopting the stance of an NFL coach at a microphone stand," stated Torre. "She’s just incredibly displeased with herself for lacking the proper strategy.
"I was incredibly frustrated when I left because I felt like I hadn't prepared properly for the right aspects. I didn't put much thought into it either. I was really angry with myself," Kimes responded.
That is considered choking though, right Mina?" questioned Le Batard. "Wouldn’t this be the classic example of choking, Coach?
Although Kimes felt let down by her defeat, she refused to acknowledge that she " choked," asserting that she recognized "almost all of the answers," yet failed to hit the buzzer before her rivals did.
I don't believe I reached a level of dominance that would be considered textbook choking," Kimes argued. "I didn't perform well on the daily doubles, which made watching back really tough for me since those were mistakes on my part. Even though I knew most answers, buzzing in proved difficult. It wasn't choking; it was simply not excelling enough.
LeBatard went on to describe Kimes' defeat as a choke, especially regarding her approach during the semifinals.
The reason I describe it as suffocating is due to the mix of panic and absence of a plan, which instantly leaves you feeling 'Ahhh.' It’s like suddenly being consumed by fear.
Regardless of whether you think Kimes suffocated her opponent or not, she is quite let down that she couldn't follow in Katie Nolan’s path and become the second sports media figure to make an appearance on Celebrity Jeopardy! finals.
