Megyn Kelly Unloads on Obamas: ‘Married the Wrong People’

On Friday, Megyn Kelly harshly criticized former First Lady Michelle Obama, even suggesting that she shouldn’t have married Barack.

"I believe she and he wed the incorrect partners," Kelly stated in the most recent episode. The Megyn Kelly Show .

The former Fox News and NBC News The anchor responded to a segment from Obama's latest podcast. In My Opinion with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson where the previous First Lady discussed her perspective on the "ups and downs" of relationships.

I share with individuals—and they often find this perspective severe—that it can feel as though 'you're in for a tough ten-year period,'" Obama stated during Wednesday’s episode. "To put it into context, I've been married to my spouse for over three decades... So when we consider that being together with our partner might span five decades and include roughly ten challenging years, most would readily agree. It usually turns out just like that.

Kelly, unimpressed, looked directly at the camera and retorted, "Is it, Michelle? It definitely isn’t."

"I've been married for 17 and a half years, and none of them were unpleasant," she remarked with a joke.

To provide some context, though, Kelly is discussing her second marriage. Her first union was with anesthesiologist Dan Kendall. concluded with a divorce in 2006 She got married to author and podcast host Douglas Brunt in 2008.

Daily Mail Columnist Maureen Callahan, who appeared with Kelly during Friday’s episode, also mocked Obama’s perspective on relationships.

“I can’t think of anybody I would go to for advice less than Michelle Obama,” Callahan said. “She really doesn’t know what she’s talking about.”

During her discussion with Callahan, Kelly emphasized assertions that Barack had "associated" himself with Michelle, a "powerful African American woman," to gain the "credibility" required among Chicago voters, pointing out that he was "biracial."

Recently, she has eagerly latched onto rumors about issues in the Obama’s relationship, which arose after the president visited both former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral and President Donald Trump’s an inauguration with Michelle not beside him.

The Obamas have attempted to quiet the rumors by posting warm and cuddly photos taken together on Valentine’s Day, along with heartfelt notes.

It's not really surprising that the pair went through difficult periods before. Both have openly discussed their challenges as a couple following Obama's second term conclusion.

During a 2022 interview on Revolt TV , Michelle spoke candidly about the difficulties of being married to an emerging political figure, stating, "For ten years, I couldn't stand my husband."

Meanwhile, Barack admitted At an event at Hamilton College this month, he mentioned that he has been striving to make amends with Michelle following the strain put on their relationship during his two terms in the White House.
