Dr Alexandra Uren from Metro North Public Health has advised that individuals who were present at those specific sites within the mentioned time frames should watch out for any signs of illness over the following 18 days since their possible exposure.
The symptoms usually begin anywhere from seven to 18 days following the infection.
Uren stated that early signs of measles consist of a high temperature, fatigue, coughing, a stuffy nose, and irritated, reddened eyes.
These symptoms later develop into a patchy red rash, typically beginning on the face before spreading extensively.
If someone suspects they have measles and needs medical attention, they should contact their doctor or healthcare provider prior to arriving at the clinic to ensure measures are in place that stop the infection from spreading to other patients."
