Falcons Lock In Dee Alford for Another Season

On Monday, the Atlanta Falcons revealed that they have signed restricted free-agent cornerback Dee Alford to a one-year contract whose terms were not disclosed. This marks his fourth year with the team as he prepares to play in 2025 following his contributions over the past three seasons where he recorded 149 total tackles (104 unassisted), 1.5 sacks, an interception, 24 pass deflections, a forced fumble, and two fumbles recovered across 48 appearances (including 16 starts). At age 27, Alford went undrafted coming from Tusculum College. In the previous campaign, during which he appeared in all 16 matches (starting 11 times), he achieved personal bests with 83 tackles (61 alone), 11 passes defended, and another forced fumble. Initially, the Falcons opted against offering him a tender; however, upon exploring options within the free agency realm this off-season, Alford decided to come back to bolster their defensive lineup. Moving forward, he’ll remain positioned primarily at nickelback for the Falcons.
