Chatter & Chaos: Chrishell Stause of 'Selling Sunset' Eyes Hosting Love Triangles Post-GFlip Marriage

Chrishell Stause, who shines as one of the main personalities on Netflix’s real estate reality series Selling Sunset, usually finds herself at the center of the dramatic events.

However, the American soap opera star who works as a luxury real estate agent and is married to Australian musician G Flip has shifted focus to hosting in the newest season of Stan’s reality dating show "Love Triangle," where she leads the series' third reunion.

Similar to the previous seasons, this edition of Love Triangle features five singles selecting between two possible partners. They then relocate in with their chosen match aiming to develop a stronger bond swiftly.

If this concept seems familiar to fans of Married at First Sight (MAFS), that’s intentional since Love Triangle was developed by the same creators.

The so-called triangular dynamic comes into play when the jilted admirer revisits the setting, since what would reality television be without manufactured conflict?

ABC Entertainment recently sat down with Chrishell to discuss what motivated her shift towards hosting reality television, how things are progressing with G Flip, and which shows she’s currently enjoying.

What inspired you to organize the Love Triangle reunion, and what does it feel like being on the opposite end of the reality show drama?

I really enjoy hosting. In the past, I have done it, and it’s certainly an activity I plan to do much more frequently moving forward.

I feel more at home on this side of the drama. Being in the hosting position rather than the contestant spot was truly enjoyable for me!

I'm quite fond of dating reality shows, and having the chance to pose those burning questions that viewers often wonder about was really enjoyable.

What positive impact has G Flip had on you personally?

G is incredibly good at helping me find my center.

[They seem] extremely composed and—I believe this is an Aussie characteristic—they have the ability to block out distractions and clearly identify what truly matters in life, which is family, friends...the fundamental essence of one’s identity.

In what ways have they been affected by you?

G also has quite a distinct perspective on what brings them joy and isn’t keen on adhering to specific norms, particularly when it comes to fashion. I believe that one of the things [I’ve] assisted them with discovering is that it’s perfectly fine to embrace this approach.

You can infuse your personal style whether you're at a formal black-tie affair or a laid-back casual gathering.

I believe they connected fancy occasions with having to conform and wear something unappealing. And I thought, ‘Why not embrace attire that truly reflects who you are and choose whatever makes you comfortable? But allow me to suggest some designers whose work will surely resonate with your taste!’

What’s on your screen at this moment?

True Love Is Blind, and I’ve also been following The Golden Bachelorette. It’s so heartwarming, and I’m always cheering for romance.

I felt the same when organizing the [Love Triangle] reunion. Clearly, we encounter scenarios that certainly don’t culminate in affection, filled with significant disputes and intense emotions. Nonetheless, I will continually champion the cause of love.

What would you like others to understand about appearing in and producing a reality TV series?

Occasionally, during a production such as Selling Sunset, it can be irritating because viewers might not understand that part of your response could have been edited out.

You often find yourself lacking context, yet you hope others can grasp your essence despite this and still manage to understand who you really are.

In a show like Love Triangle, it's quite different. They encourage viewers to witness every moment, including poor quality footage and audible background noise from microphones.

If you’re joining season four of Love Triangle, make sure your motives are pure since you’ll be scrutinized and won’t be able to keep secrets.

[it provides] an excellent watching experience, witnessing us essentially apprehend individuals who participated in the show with ill intentions.

What did you listen to the most last year?

'Worst Person Alive'!

What guidance could you offer to individuals who have very clear notions about the type of person they envision as their future spouse?

It's wonderful to let go of those preexisting notions. Things like height or hair color—people often confine themselves within these narrow categories, yet sometimes the most amazing opportunities might be standing right before them without them noticing.

You'll surely notice that on this season of Love Triangle.

And ideally, this will also assist viewers who are watching it because we often find ourselves yelling at the TV, shouting, 'No, no, turn left!' when they head right instead, making for quite a dramatic mess.

Quotes have been slightly modified for clarity and conciseness.

The third season of Love Triangle will be available for streaming starting April 6th on Stan.
