Chappell Roan Unveils Her Powerful Gay Anthem 'Holy Trinity'

When Chappell Roan When challenged to name her "gay music video holy trinity," she immediately stepped up to the task.

The pop singer-songwriter recently took a seat – or more accurately, remained standing – for an interview. Gaydar During an interview with Anania, Roan was tasked with selecting her top three gay-themed music videos of all time.

"'Alejandro,' 'She Wolf,' 'Beautiful Lier,'" Roan rattle off, opting for Lady Gaga's tracks. The Fame Monster visually enhanced version, along with two distinct Shakira music videos: the standalone "She Wolf" and her collaborative effort with Beyoncé titled "Beautiful Liar."

Roan and Anania attempted to imitate Shakira and Beyoncé’s mesmerizing hip movements seen in the music video, yet the host came up with various reasons explaining their inability to perfectly replicate these dance moves. “I can pull it off,” declares Anania, “it’s just that my bones feel frozen.” Roan chuckles, saying, “Arthritis got you?” To which Anania agrees, adding, “Yes, exactly, it’s been bothering me lately.”

In the Gaydar In the social series, Anania quizzes guests with 20 questions to determine if they identify as "gay, straight, or a homophobe." Ultimately, Anania determines, "I can confirm that you're not straight, so I believe you're gay."

"Wow! Thanks!" Roan replies with a playful grin to conclude the clip.

Roan is currently promoting her latest country/pop single "The Giver," which has topped the Hot Country Songs chart and has risen as high as No. 5 on the all-genre Hot 100. There's no word yet whether "The Giver" will be part of Roan's next album, the follow-up to her 2023 debut album The Ascent and Decline of a Midwestern Queen .
